A day porter is the daytime line, not a thicker night invoice

A day porter is a person on site during business hours for the spills, the restrooms, the entry, and the rooms that fail before noon. The night crew has already left. If the lobby is destroyed by lunch, more night hours will not fix noon. The porter also does not replace the night crew. Buying only a porter and skipping the night reset is how the building looks tired every morning and busy every afternoon.

Porter hours are quoted as hours, not as a fake per-square-foot night rate. The nightly program still follows the DFW bands. Weekly office service is usually $350 to $2,000 a month. Five nights is about $0.10 to $0.20 per square foot. Retail entries that need a porter are often the same buildings where nightly retail is $500 to $1,200 for about 5,000 square feet. Medical suites that need a daytime reset are still medical at about $0.18 to $0.35 per square foot for the night program. The porter sits beside that number so you can see it.

Write the tasks. A porter who is sent to run errands is not a cleaning program. Restrooms, the entry glass, spot mopping, and trash pulls are the usual list. High dusting and project floors are not a porter’s afternoon.
